KURAI is an Australian cinematographer with a disciplined visual sensibility rooted in emotional storytelling. He gravitates toward natural and available light, shaping images that feel grounded, immediate, and cinematically charged.

His work is guided by a singular principle: every frame must be motivated by character and story. Composition, light, and movement are driven by the inner life of the character and the emotional core of the story. Nothing is ornamental. Every image carries intent — and is meant to be felt.

He holds a Master’s in Cinematography from the University of West London and has collaborated internationally across Australia, the US, Canada, and the UK.
